01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Tucked deep on the 1 floor of RIHGA Royal Hotel Tokyo, CELLAR BAR is an authentic hotel bar wrapped in subdued lighting and a calm, measured pace. With both counter stools and comfortable booths, it accommodates everything from quiet solitary nights over a single malt to relaxed evening conversations over drinks.

Heritage Serves and Neighborhood Signatures

A natural place to begin is with the house signatures, each rooted in the locale. Created to mark the hotel's 20th anniversary, the "WASEDA" cocktail blends Miyako no Seihoku sake—closely associated with the Waseda neighborhood—with cherry blossom and raspberry liqueurs, finished with an edible cherry blossom in a deep madder-red hue. Another staple is the "RIHGA Rose," which marries gin with rose liqueur, grapefruit juice, and pomegranate syrup for a fragrant sip balanced by a crisp, structured finish.

Global Whiskies and Refined Bar Plates

The back bar boasts a wide-ranging collection of whiskies, spanning coveted Japanese bottles like Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Yoichi to single malts from Islay and Speyside, alongside American and Irish selections. For food, light nibbles like cheese platters and assorted cold cuts sit beside substantial dishes, including an American clubhouse sandwich, pizza Margherita, and comforting onion gratin soup.

Whether consulting the bartender for a tailored pour or lingering after dinner over a quiet nightcap, CELLAR BAR provides an elegant final chapter to an evening in Tokyo.
